15. Munro-bagging, Feb 2018

This year we had a go at the Monadhliath Mountains.

More snow than usual, and we were very pleased to have our snow-shoes. Without them (or skis), wading to the tops would have required head-torch action.

This year we managed 5 which takes us to 102 (still 179 to do!)

Fancy a sandwich with your spindrift, sir?

14. Australia, November 2017

We started in the Blue Mountains (3C the first night, home from home):

Then we drove south of Sydney to Otford for some walking on the coast. Sarah nabbed herself a tick and I picked up a blue-bottle (they sting like bees and have 'tails' up to 15 metres; they put us off going swimming).

From Otford, we took a flat in central Sydney, near Darling Harbour (always reminds me of Blackadder). We had an eve at the opera house to see A Merchant of Venice (terrible play, good production) and spent a day with Amanda and family ('roo burgers for lunch). We went to Manley and swam, and Bondi Beach to see the sculptures. We even had a guided tour in the Botanic Gardens.

We then flew to Brisbane to see Nick, Heather, B&G.
