14. Australia, November 2017

We started in the Blue Mountains (3C the first night, home from home):

Then we drove south of Sydney to Otford for some walking on the coast. Sarah nabbed herself a tick and I picked up a blue-bottle (they sting like bees and have 'tails' up to 15 metres; they put us off going swimming).

From Otford, we took a flat in central Sydney, near Darling Harbour (always reminds me of Blackadder). We had an eve at the opera house to see A Merchant of Venice (terrible play, good production) and spent a day with Amanda and family ('roo burgers for lunch). We went to Manley and swam, and Bondi Beach to see the sculptures. We even had a guided tour in the Botanic Gardens.

We then flew to Brisbane to see Nick, Heather, B&G.

13. The Pennine Way, Cowling to Hawes, September 2017

A very wet and windy 4 days walking from Cowling to Hawes (about 50 miles) and then 10 miles off 'the way' from Hawes to Dent, the highest British station.

12. The Manic Street Preachers, 9 July 2017

The night started with the pre-party . . .

Then to the main event . . . Max so excited he couldn't eat dessert.

Thinner on top and older. Wiser?

Them or us?

We love them!

10. James turns 40 in Llangollen

1 candle = 10 years, I was told.

Before that, and to work up some cake-appetite, Max and I climbed up something in the fog.
